Why Join the NAIUA?

We work in a changing world. Some companies are downsizing; others are expanding by acquisition and takeover.

The North American Ingres Users Association (NAIUA) provides continuity in your profession. It has been your voice at Computer Associates for more than a decade. From directing the SIRS program to acting as your ombudsman in problems with Computer Associates, the NAIUA has maintained a strong voice as the elected representative of you, the Ingres user.

In this time of excitement and change within the Ingres community, it is important that users continue to act in unison to maintain the strong relationship we have developed with Computer Associates. Only then will your voice be heard clearly.

What's in it for me?

What benefits do you have as a member, other than attending Ingres World?

Ingres World ...

If you want even more ...

Opportunities are there for you to become a leader within the NAIUA by contributing your expertise and energy to a committee or elected position within the NAIUA executive board.

The NAIUA helps members form their own local users group, help them locate speakers for their group, even assist in regional conference development. Canons of Conduct ...

Several years ago the NAIUA published a "Canons of Conduct" for the membership, vendors, and Ingres consultants (revised January, 1990). These "Canons" are presented below and reflect the philosophy that NAIUA has had since its inception.

Participants in North American Ingres User Association (NAIUA) activities must:

  1. Properly register and display appropriate credentials for all NAIUA activities as required.
  2. Conform with the Bylaws and official policies of the NAIUA. The NAIUA Communications Committee will provide copies of these documents upon request.
  3. Conduct themselves in a professional manner during all NAIUA activities and all conduct should exhibit the spirit of fair play and high integrity.
  4. Restrict the use of NAIUA documents (proceedings, attendee and mailing lists, etc.) to purposes as stated by the Bylaws and official policies.
  5. Refrain from using the IUA or NAIUA name and logo for commercial or promotional gain except for NAIUA business as defined by the Bylaws and official policies.
  6. Refrain from the unauthorized distribution or display of marketing or sales materials, brochures, fliers, etc. at NAIUA sponsored activities. User presentations may not advertise products or services or distribute sales brochures, fliers, etc. An NAIUA bulletin board, exhibit area, or other approved means may be utilized for such display with prior permission of the appropriate NAIUA official.
  7. Refrain from violating proprietary rights of the NAIUA or any other person or organization.
  8. Refrain from conducting any activity contrary to the purposes of the NAIUA.
  9. The NAIUA Executive Board or its designees reserves the right to determine if any activity is in violation of the NAIUA Canons of Conduct.

OK. By now you must be convinced! Come join us!
